How Our Falling Auctions Work
At Rocks & Co. there are several ways you can shop.
On our website we have a shopping cart with a special
selection of jewellery at fixed prices. Purchasing is simple
as making your selection and checking out.
If you like the excitement of falling auctions, simply watch
us live on Sky 666, Freesat 817 (8am - 12am) and Freeview 40 (1pm - 6pm) or alternatively, click here
to watch our web stream or to bid online. While you can shop from our auctions either on the phone or our website, please
note that auction items over £500 cannot be ordered online and that online purchases of auction items are limited to a
total of £500 per shipment. Once you have checked out, you can keep purchasing auction items online until you again
reach the £500 limit, at which time you will need to check out again. To order auction items over £500 please call 0800 107 3535. Please note that all web and phone orders made until 2am the same day are combined under one p&p. However, please only check out your web order once you have finished shopping for the day. If you check out a web order and then start another web order during the same day, this will incur another p&p.
Our falling auctions are run in two formats, ‘timed
auctions’ and ‘falling auctions’. While details on each are
included below, if you are placing your order by phone,
please stay on the line even if the auction has ended, as
there sometimes may still be a chance to obtain your
selection, even in quantity auctions. Regardless of the
auction format, please remember that the price at which an
auction starts is entirely random and does not represent an
implied worth or value of the item being sold.
Timed Auctions
In timed auctions, the price will continue to fall, but the
auction will close either when the timer expires or the item
is sold out. Whatever the price is when the auction closes
is the price everyone pays. Please note that all orders are
subject to availability.
Quantity Auctions
Once the auction starts the price will begin to fall.
Sometimes the price will drop slowly and other times it will
drop quickly. When the price drops quickly, we call this a
‘Price Crash’. Please note that a Price Crash may not happen
in every quantity auction. As people start to bid, the
available quantity will decrease. Once all the items in the
auction have sold, the auction closes. Whatever the price is
when the auction closes is the price everyone pays.
